The story of Catlock Farms

When Allie & Justin moved into a new neighborhood in Colorado Springs, they noticed a young family of outdoor cats roaming their busy street. After some investigation, Allie learned they were part of a small colony of mostly-related cats being cared for by one of their neighbors. Allie collaborated with their caregiver and the local Humane Society to get the colony members spayed, neutered, and up to date on vaccines.

When their caregiver entered hospice care and their home was sold to a real estate developer, Allie took responsibility for the colony, which ultimately led to the Matlocks relocating to Tennessee where they bought plenty of land for the cats to thrive. This is how Matlock Farms was born.

A home for wayward dogs

When Allie adopted her first dog, Avery, she realized she wanted to devote her life to saving, rehabilitating, and nurturing dogs who were suffering. There are currently four rescued dogs living permanently on the farm and we extend our support into the community through fundraising initiatives, volunteer work, and resource sharing in collaboration with our rescue partners.

All of the dogs who live at Matlock Farms were rescued from shelters or found as strays in need of a safe place to land.
